Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Engineer at the Thousand Oaks site to lead technology transfer and provide troubleshooting for biologics drug substance processes across the network. The role emphasizes on-site execution and collaboration with a diverse team of engineers and scientists.

You will translate developmental processes to commercial reality, support scale-up, and work with Manufacturing, Quality, and Validation teams. A strong engineering background and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Master’s or bachelor’s degree with engineering/operations experience.
• Associate degree with multiple years of experience can qualify.
• High school diploma with extensive engineering/operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.
• Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques under supervision.
• Perform assignments with clear objectives requiring limited variable investigation.
• Assist in transfer of processes from lab to manufacturing and between sites.
• Monitor manufacturing processes and provide troubleshooting guidance.
• Apply statistical analysis and design of experiments for processing improvements.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Validation teams on requirements and modifications.
• Support non-standard shift organization and extended hours as needed.
• Provide on-floor technical support for scale-up, technology transfer, and clinical/commercial operations.
• Represent process development in interactions with cross-functional teams.
