Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in Tarrytown, NY, is seeking a Process Development Engineer III on-site to lead chromatography-based separation tech and drive new process implementations. You will mentor team members, prepare complex technical documents for senior leadership, and collaborate across functions to advance programs.

The role requires strong communication skills, lab operations oversight, and experience with Empower, LIMS, and Spotfire.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with PhD/MS/BS as listed.
• Experience in protein purification.
• Ability to communicate complex information to diverse audiences.
• Experience with the listed software tools.

Responsibilities

Process Development Engineer III (On-site, Tarrytown, NY)

• Serve as an authority in chromatography-based separation techniques; determine improvement strategies.
• Independently lead technology development, drive results, and onboard new technologies.
• Write and review complex technical documents for senior leadership.
• Plan and execute experiments/projects; take calculated risks to close technical gaps.
• Ask pointed questions to resolve ambiguity; make science-based recommendations using internal and literature learnings.
• Maintain and continuously improve lab operations and relevant data/knowledge management systems.
• Anticipate customer needs; shape internal workflows.
• Prepare and deliver oral presentations across internal/external meetings.
• Collaborate cross-functionally and represent PMPD in multi-functional meetings.
• Mentor peers/direct reports; contribute to lab equipment maintenance and safety.
• Complete SOP training and compliance responsibilities; communicate updates to PMPD Senior Staff.

Must-haves:

• Engineering degree with experience: PhD (0–2+ yrs), MS (3–5+ yrs), or BS (7–10+ yrs).
• Industrial experience in protein purification.
• Proven ability to communicate complex information to multifaceted audiences.
• Experience with Empower, Unicorn, PI Historian, JMP, LIMS, Spotfire, RPES, and ELN.

Preferred:

• Innovative problem-solving; development of tools/techniques.
• Experience leading teams and delegating tasks.
