Job summary

IPG Photonics, based in Marlborough, MA, seeks a Process Development Engineer to advance manufacturing, optimization, and qualification of high-power optoelectronic components. You will partner with design and materials teams to ensure process compatibility with product requirements and drive improvements.

The role emphasizes data-driven optimization using DOE/ SPC, troubleshooting production equipment, and supporting transition to volume production with robust documentation and training.

Qualifications

• Experience in optoelectronics and/or semiconductor packaging.
• Strong understanding of semiconductor laser physics.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing stations and production equipment.
• Participate in design and implementation of improved processes for high-power optoelectronic components.
• Analyze failure modes and drive corrective actions to improve process robustness and yield.
• Collaborate with design, materials, and manufacturing teams to ensure process compatibility with product requirements.
• Use DOE and SPC to analyze process data and prepare technical reports.
