Job summary

Nokia in Allentown, PA is seeking a Process Development Engineer responsible for developing new and expanding assembly process platforms and transferring them to manufacturing. The candidate must be a multitasking team player and able to interface with multiple engineering groups.

Experience with process development and hands-on expertise in mechanical engineering or materials science as well as with automated equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment is required.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering with 3-6 years of experience or MS degree in Engineering.
• 0-4 years of experience (as stated in the ad context).
• Ability to independently initiate, prioritize, and drive projects to completion.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with high attention to detail.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing is a plus.
• CAD tools such as Creo and/or SolidWorks used for design tasks.

Responsibilities

• Develop, characterize, and qualify manufacturing processes from concept through development and transfer to manufacturing, including equipment specification and procurement, process flow, development/verification, and qualification plan.
• Design, execute, and analyze experiments through DOE and statistical techniques.
• Design tooling and fixturing for assigned processes.
• Set up and conduct process checks and complete documentation for transfer to manufacturing.
• Lead and perform Failure Mode Analysis (FMA) and RCCA plans.
• Train technicians and oversee equipment calibration and maintenance scheduling.
• Develop all required documentation for processes that transfer to manufacturing.
