Veeco Instruments Inc. is seeking a Process Development Engineer in Beverly, MA to lead qualification and acceptance of advanced deposition and etch platforms.

You will develop qualification strategies, optimize thin‑film processes, and analyze complex data to ensure performance and reliability for semiconductor manufacturing. Work with state‑of‑the‑art systems and collaborate across R&D, Manufacturing, and Customer Engineering to accelerate next‑generation technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or Master's with 3+ years.
• Experience developing, characterizing, optimizing, or qualifying thin‑film deposition and etch processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end process qualification and customer acceptance readiness activities for advanced deposition and etch systems.
• Develop and execute qualification strategies from customer specs to validation plans and milestones.
• Characterize, optimize, and validate thin‑film deposition and etch processes for manufacturing readiness.
• Analyze process, equipment, and metrology data to identify trends and reduce variability.
• Lead cross‑functional investigations and drive data‑driven solutions.
• Prepare and present qualification reports and technical data packages for FACT/inspections.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Final Test, Operations, and Product Marketing on new product introductions.
