Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Process Design Engineer for NASC Engineering in Atlanta, GA. You will lead process design initiatives for sortation and distribution systems, working with a team of engineers on end-to-end designs and cross-functional projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years in industrial/operations/manufacturing engineering, experience with AutoCAD/VBA/SQL, Six Sigma and lean manufacturing, and travel up to 50% to site locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level.
• Experience working with and managing third party vendors.
• Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing.
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing.
• Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate efforts to develop optimal solutions and processes for the sortation and transportation network through material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
• Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
• Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
• Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions.
• 50% travel requirement to visit sites and support projects.
