Job summary

Johnson Matthey is seeking a Process Controls Engineer in West Deptford, NJ to lead long-term control system strategies, support both batch and continuous processes, and troubleshoot control networks. You will work with Rockwell PLCs, FactoryTalk View SE, and SCADA systems to optimize instrumentation and motor control within a safety-driven environment.

The role emphasizes implementing standards, improving performance, and contributing to OT cybersecurity initiatives while offering a hybrid work

Qualifications

Degree in Chemical, Electrical or related engineering discipline.
Proven experience programming Allen Bradley PLCs (PLC5, Micrologix, CompactLogix, ControlLogix) using Rockwell Automation software.
Experience with SCADA systems, ideally FactoryTalk View SE.
Strong understanding of instrumentation, process control systems, and motor control including VFDs.
Knowledge of Ethernet, ControlNet and Remote I/O protocols.
Experience in chemical or process manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Lead development and delivery of long-term control system strategies to improve process performance and scalability.
Act as technical lead on controls and automation projects, supporting both batch and continuous chemical processes.
Provide expert troubleshooting and technical support for control systems, networks and plant operations.
Define and implement control and automation standards, ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory and PSM requirements.
Identify and deliver improvements to instrumentation, electrical and control system performance.
Support OT cybersecurity initiatives and risk assessments to ensure secure and compliant operations.
