Job summary

Olin Chemicals is seeking a Process Controls Engineer Co-Op for six months in McIntosh, AL. The role supports maintenance and production by developing and maintaining process control systems, with hands-on project work and strong emphasis on safety and efficiency.

You will learn programming, instrumentation, and control systems, develop DCS graphics, validate code, and test plans, and contribute to continuous improvement and standards adherence. Housing stipend is available.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering program.
• GPA 3.0 or higher required; transcript required each term.
• Must have completed sophomore year or 60 credits before first rotation.
• Must be able to obtain TWIC and have a valid US driver's license.
• No visa sponsorship; must be authorized to work in the United States.

Title: Process Controls Engineer 6-Month Co-Op (January-June or June-December)

Location: McIntosh, AL

Salary: $30.00 / hour

Focus: The Process Controls Engineer Co-Op supports maintenance and production with the development, implementation, and maintenance of process control systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

What You'll Do:

• Lead a minimum of three hands-on projects throughout the term, to be defined at the beginning of the rotation based on department and business need
• Develop knowledge of programming, instrumentation, and control systems by collaborating with engineers and reviewing vendor documentation
• Develop DCS graphics, validate control code, and test plans for DCS equipment, including servers and workstation setup
• Support training, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts through data analysis and maintenance of standards and procedures

What You'll Bring:

• Enrolled at an accredited college or university majoring in an undergraduate Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering degree program
• Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale at all times throughout your time at Olin. An official transcript will be required each term. Cumulative GPA on current institution transcript will be used in transfer college situations.
• Must have completed sophomore year (or 60 completed credit hours) prior to first rotation with OlinAbility to work full-time (40 hours a week during normal business hours) during rotation; Not eligible for virtual work
• Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license*
