Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, install, test, and continuously improve electrical control systems and automation solutions for production lines.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and extensive experience in PLC/HMI programming, servo motion control, and Fanuc robot setup. The position operates under a Hybrid Work Policy: three days in office and two days remote.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required with extensive controls experience.
• 10+ years in Controls/Field Engineering or related role.
• Experience with electrical and control systems in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Implements and executes new programs (SOR prep, forecasting, controls design, equipment build, run-off and buy-off).
• Designs, constructs, integrates, installs, launches and improves equipment/tools for high-quality parts.
• Oversees deliveries to program milestones with multiple suppliers and reports to senior management.
• Supports existing programs/sites and provides technical direction to junior engineers and suppliers.
• Designs/troubleshoots electrical control systems and develops/testing of advanced process tech.

Job DescriptionDUTIES : Implements and executes new programs, including SOR prep, forecasting, controls design, equipment build, and run-off and buy-off. Designs, constructs, integrates, installs, launches, and continuously improves equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high quality parts. Communicates effectively and works collaboratively with all customers and plants. Provides technical direction to less experience controls engineers and suppliers. Designs and troubleshoots electrical control systems. Develops and tests advanced process technology.
