Job summary

General Motors in Michigan seeks an experienced Engineer to lead engine, powertrain, and transmission controller strategies. You will establish and refresh BOM approaches, ensuring robust hardware/software interfaces and cost-effective solutions across modules.

You will mentor teams, support DFMEA reviews, supplier development, and global requirements alignment, while guiding production issues and recalls to ensure safe, reliable mobility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Chemistry, Physics or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience with microprocessor-based automotive controllers.
  • Strong knowledge of DFMEA and verification/validation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead controller technical reviews to ensure global requirement compliance.
  • Develop and maintain BOM strategies for Engine/Powertrain and Transmission.
  • Mentor teams and support DFMEA reviews and PRTS/recall reads.
  • Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting in manufacturing and production.
  • Support cost reduction and supplier development initiatives.
