IMEG is growing, and we'd love for you to join our team! We are currently seeking a Controls Project Designer in our Farmington Hills, MI office. As a Controls Project Designer, you will provide control systems architecture and engineering design services to clients in the chemical, water and wastewater treatment, manufacturing, food and beverage, and petrochemical industries.

Principal Responsibilities

  1. Meet with existing clients regularly to discuss projects.
  2. Participate in training and mentoring staff.
  3. Market control engineering services to existing clients.
  4. Develop and design control systems.
  5. Troubleshoot PLC and control devices in the field.
  6. Oversee commissioning and start-up of systems.
  7. Design control panels.
  8. Program PLC and HMI systems.
  9. Develop Bill of Material (BOM) documentation.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  1. Ability to perform all essential duties and demonstrate leadership traits.
  2. Self-motivated and proactive.
  3. Capable of conducting quality control checks.
  4. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  5. Proficient in Microsoft Office and control systems architecture/engineering design.
  6. Networking skills and experience with server installations.
  7. Experience with commissioning and start-up of control systems.
  8. Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC programming and Factory Talk.
  9. Proficiency with Wonderware, Siemens PLC/DCS programming, HMI development, and AutoCAD Electrical.
  10. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in a related science field.
  2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or
  3. 10 years of experience or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

  1. Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
  2. Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, or pull.
  3. Exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises.
  4. Ability to work in an industrial setting.
