Job summary

10x Genomics is seeking a Scientist to join the Process Development team in Pleasanton, CA, to support development and commercial launch of new chemistries and processes for reagents and consumables.

The role requires a PhD in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry with 0–3 years of industry experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to transfer processes to manufacturing or OEM vendors. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry and 0-3 years of industry experience.
• Ability to integrate a broad range of scientific and engineering disciplines.
• Ability to design meaningful experiments and in-depth analysis; experience with statistics for process control.
• Strong documentation and ability to communicate experimental design, results and plans.
• Understanding of physical chemistry principles to scale up chemical manufacturing processes.
• Ability to develop, validate and transfer processes to manufacturing or OEM vendors.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Desire to be part of a rapidly evolving organization with a compelling technology.

Responsibilities

• Identify root causes of product deviations and troubleshoot them.
• Plan, execute, and document experiments with accurate records.
• Write protocols, develop procedures, and maintain records.
