Arrowhead Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a Scientist III to join our Process Chemistry team in Madison, WI, focusing on development and scale-up of conjugated RNAi therapeutics.

The role covers moving discovery conjugation protocols toward GMP kilogram-scale manufacturing with hands-on bench work and CRO/CDMO oversight. You will optimize site-specific and stochastic conjugation strategies, purify conjugates, and coordinate technology transfer while collaborating with discovery chemistry,

Qualifications

• Hands-on siRNA conjugation development experience is required.
• PhD in Organic Chemistry / Bioconjugate Chemistry / Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with purification and analytical characterization of conjugates.
• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Optimize discovery-stage conjugation protocols for antibody-siRNA conjugates to improve yield and quality.
• Develop GMP-ready, kilogram-scale conjugation processes with site-specific and stochastic strategies.
• Conduct bench experiments for conjugation, purification, and analytical control.
• Oversee CROs/CDMOs, set direction, review data and ensure timelines.
• Characterize conjugates for DAR and heterogeneity using HIC/SEC/IEX/LC-MS/AEX.
• Lead tech transfer to manufacturing partners and author process docs.
• Troubleshoot process issues and design robust parameter ranges.
