Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) seeks a Process Chemical Engineer to provide process optimization and engineering support for the mill, including compliance coordination, lean projects, quality and product safety, and analytical and systems support.

The role focuses on developing methods to track and reduce operational costs, ensuring mill rules and company policies are followed, coordinating outside resources, and supervising mill and contract employees while using data to drive business

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering; Pulp and paper industry experience preferred.
• Manufacturing experience in pulp and paper is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide process optimization and engineering support for the mill, including compliance process coordination, lean projects, quality and product safety, and analytical and systems support.
• Develops and maintains methods for tracking and reducing operational costs.
• Ensure that mill rules are enforced and that company policies are followed.
• Coordinate the efforts of our outside resources to improve our operation by filtering and utilizing appropriate information.
• Schedule and supervise mill and contract employees as required.
• Conducts data analysis projects and uses data to make business decisions.
