Job summary

FITS LLC seeks a qualified Automation Specialist to support Manufacturing, Packaging, Facilities, and Utilities with PLC-driven systems and SCADA/BAS platforms. The role covers troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, and system upgrades, with training provided on unfamiliar platforms.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Engineering, Electronics, or CS, 3+ years in industrial settings (co-ops/internships count), and fluent Spanish-English communication.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Electronics, or Computer Science with 3+ years of industrial experience (co-op/internships count).
• Strong knowledge of cGMP, FDA/EMA regulations, and 21 CFR Part 1.
• Bilingual Spanish and English (verbal and written).
• Shift: 12-hour shifts based on business needs; typical hours 5:00 AM–5:30 PM.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to Manufacturing, Packaging, Facilities, and Utilities teams — troubleshooting automated, electronic, and PLC-controlled systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on PLCs, drives, motion systems, and smart devices.
• Assist with installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades of PLCs, HMI, SCADA, DCS/BAS; training provided.
• Maintain software and documentation; contribute to CMMS spare parts/maintenance planning.
• Write and review SOPs and work instructions for automated equipment.
• Participate in automation and process improvement projects as a team.
• Collaborate with hardware/software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Comply with cGMP, EHS, and site security requirements.

• Experience in:
  • Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation platforms
  • Familiarity with DeltaV, FactoryTalk, SCADA/DCS/BAS systems
  • Basic networking or database exposure
  • CMMS experience (e.g., Maximo)

AS A PIECE OF FITS, YOU WILL: (The day-to-day on the job)

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated systems: PLCs, ladder logic, drives, motion systems, and smart electronic devices.
• Support installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades of computerized systems (PLCs, HMI, SCADA, DCS/BAS, communication interfaces, and related platforms — training provided on systems you haven\'t used before).
• Help maintain automated systems\' software and documentation, and contribute to the CMMS spare parts/maintenance planning process.
• Write and review SOPs and work instructions for automated equipment.
• Participate as a team member on automation and process improvement projects.
• Work directly with hardware/software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
• Comply with all cGMP, EHS, and site security requirements.
