Job summary

FITS, LLC is seeking an automation-focused professional to support Manufacturing, Packaging, Facilities and Utilities with PLC-controlled systems and automated equipment. You will troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade automation hardware and software across multiple platforms while adhering to cGMP and EHS standards.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Engineering or related field, are bilingual in Spanish and English, and are comfortable with 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, Electronics or Computer Science with 3+ years of industrial experience (co-op/internship counted).
  • Strong knowledge of cGMP and FDA/EMA regulations, including 21 CFR Part 1.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (verbal and written).
  • Shift: 12-hour, with hours 5:00 AM–5:30 PM as business needs require.
  • Experience with PLC/SCADA/DCS/BAS systems and related automation platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to Manufacturing, Packaging, Facilities and Utilities teams for automated, PLC-controlled systems.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on PLCs, drives, motion systems and smart devices.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, troubleshooting and upgrades of computerized systems (PLCs, HMI, SCADA, DCS/BAS).
  • Maintain software and documentation; contribute to CMMS spare parts and maintenance planning.
  • Write and review SOPs and work instructions for automated equipment.
  • Participate as a team member on automation and process improvement projects.
  • Collaborate with hardware/software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Comply with cGMP, EHS and site security requirements.

    • 5:00 AM - 5:30 PM
  • Experience in:
    • Allen-Bradley / Rockwell Automation platforms
    • Familiarity with DeltaV, FactoryTalk, SCADA/DCS/BAS systems
    • Basic networking or database exposure
    • CMMS experience (e.g., Maximo)

AS A PIECE OF FITS, YOU WILL: (The day-to-day on the job)
  • Provide technical support to Manufacturing, Packaging, Facilities, and Utilities teams — troubleshooting automated, electronic, and computerized systems and PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automated systems: PLCs, ladder logic, drives, motion systems, and smart electronic devices.
  • Support installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades of computerized systems (PLCs, HMI, SCADA, DCS/BAS, communication interfaces, and related platforms — training provided on systems you haven\'t used before).
  • Help maintain automated systems\' software and documentation, and contribute to the CMMS spare parts/maintenance planning process.
  • Write and review SOPs and work instructions for automated equipment.
  • Participate as a team member on automation and process improvement projects.
  • Work directly with hardware/software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Comply with all cGMP, EHS, and site security requirements.
