Job description

Canopy's mission is to optimize your home for health & wellness. Since launching in 2020, Canopy has expanded its suite of innovative home products that support wellness routines for the whole family. Canopy has an office in NYC with distributed team members located around the US and Asia (Hong Kong & China)

OVERVIEW

As Process Automation Manager, you will run the day to day of Canopy's internal technology operation: the automations, and the AI tooling that keep a lean team moving fast. You will own prioritization and delivery across our Tech Ops workstreams in ClickUp, direct the daily project work of our two Tech Ops specialists, and build a meaningful share of the work with your own hands in No/Low Code tools like Make, Zapier, N8N, Claude, and Vercel. This is a hands-on role for someone who loves both sides of systems work: running a tight project and building the automations that make systems and processes easier. You will report to our Chief of Staff and partner with every team at Canopy.

ABOUT CANOPY

Canopy is leading the way in reimagining home wellness with innovative products like humidifiers, showerheads, and diffusers. We believe your home environment is key to achieving beauty and wellness goals for the whole family. Our products are designed to make your space healthier and more enjoyable, without the hassle of traditional devices. Our mission is to provide dermatologist-recommended, easy-to-use products that support glowing skin, better sleep, and a healthier home.

Our focus is on developing standout ideas, sourcing the right materials, and defining the forms they can take. We draw on everyday observations, deep research, and an anthropological approach to product development. Our goal is to build products that are forward-thinking while respecting the past, distilling ideas to their essence while preserving what appeals to human sensibilities.

WHY WE'RE HIRING

Canopy runs on a modern, AI-native stack (Claude, Make, ClickUp, Vercel), and demand for that work now comes from every department. As we scale, the entire organization needs a dedicated owner to build the processes, standards, and infrastructure that keep pace with that growth. We are hiring someone to lead that effort - establishing the operational foundation, prioritizing the pipeline, building automations, and coordinating our Tech Ops specialists - so the team can move faster, more reliably, and more ambitiously. If you want to build the systems that power a scaling company, this role is for you.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • PROCESS DEFINITION: Partner with teams to define the process behind their work before any automation gets built. Embed with how a team actually operates today, shape the process together, pressure-test it until it holds, and then implement the system that runs it. Integrate, define, refine, implement.
  • PROCESS AND PLAYBOOKS: Build the SOPs and documentation so systems knowledge lives in the company, not in one person's head. Stand up the operating rhythms (intake, triage, sprint priorities, shipped-work recaps) that let Tech Ops scale beyond the people currently in it.
  • TEAM COORDINATION: Direct the day-to-day project work of our two Tech Ops specialists, one focused on data engineering and one on CX and retention systems. Keep their work prioritized, unblocked, and connected into one coherent system while they retain their formal reporting line to the Chief of Staff. Balance workloads and make prioritization calls within an agreed roadmap, escalating only what truly needs a manager's input.
  • AUTOMATION AND INTEGRATION BUILDS: Build and maintain automations in Make and Zapier that connect our stack, including Shopify, ClickUp, Kustomer, Skio, Google Workspace, Slack, and Airtable. Consolidate overlapping workflows into a documented, maintainable architecture. Jump into ad-—fixes fast, and convert recurring ones into proper projects.
  • AI TOOLING AND ADOPTION: Build AI-powered workflows and tools with Claude, including skills, agents, and automated reporting and analysis. Help teams across Canopy fold these tools into their daily work, and keep raising the bar on what we automate versus what we do by hand.
  • INTERNAL TOOLS AND ADMINISTRATION: Ship and maintain lightweight internal tools and dashboards, including apps deployed on Vercel. Own tool administration and hygiene across the stack: permissions, integrations, and naming conventions, so our systems stay interoperable rather than siloed.
  • SYSTEMS AND REPORTING: Work inside Canopy's modern, AI-native stack and use AI to remove manual, low-value work rather than absorbing it. Run a regular prioritization rhythm with the Chief of Staff, and report on what Tech Ops shipped, what it moved for the business, and what is next.
  • CROSS-FUNCTIONAL PARTNERSHIP: Be the front door for tech requests from CX, marketing, ops, supply chain, finance, and leadership. Assess impact, say no kindly when the effort is not worth the output, and slot the rest into the pipeline. Translate between what a team needs and what a system can do.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 3+ years across systems, operations, technical program management, or automation-heavy roles, ideally in ecommerce or DTC. More experience is welcome; we will level the role to the candidate.
  • Love of project managment tools esp Clickup) and you live and breather process
  • Real building experience with no-code and low-code platforms. Make, Zapier, or similar tools are second nature, and you can read API docs, work with webhooks and JSON, and debug your own workflows.
  • Comfort with modern, AI-native platforms rather than only legacy enterprise systems, and genuine interest in using AI to stitch workflows together. You use tools like Claude for real work and want to build with them, not just chat with them.
  • Strong, organized project management. You keep many workstreams straight, run a clean pipeline, and people trust your timelines.
  • The ability to direct the work of others without formal authority, giving clear priorities and feedback while keeping the relationship collaborative.
  • Clear communication with non-technical teammates, from gathering requirements to explaining what shipped and why it matters.
  • Scrappy pragmatism. You maximize the tools we already pay for before proposing new spend, and you would rather ship a working v1 this week than a perfect v3 next quarter.
  • A proactive, ownership mindset: you surface gaps early and build systems that scale beyond one person. This is how Canopy actually works, not a platitude.
  • Interest in the beauty, wellness, baby, or home space is a plus.
YOU SHOULD APPLY IF
  • You get energy from being the person who makes things run, and you like being trusted with the keys to the whole operation.
  • You love turning a vague \"can we automate this?\" into a shipped workflow that saves someone hours every week.
  • You enjoy switching between modes in a single day: running a prioritization conversation in the morning and debugging a Make scenario in the afternoon.
  • You take pride in documentation, naming conventions, and systems that outlive you, because you know how much they matter downstream.
  • You want a front-row seat to how an entire consumer business runs, from support tickets to supply chain to subscriptions.
  • You really love project managment tools
