Job summary

Cindavi in Memphis, TN seeks a Process Automation Engineer to join our Project Engineering Group. You will design and implement automation for batch and continuous processes, supporting migration to ABB 800M and Allen-Bradley systems, and collaborate with process engineering, electrical maintenance, and instrumentation teams.

This role offers exposure to legacy and modern plant controls, developing troubleshooting procedures, and becoming a go-to automation resource for the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering preferred.
• Experience in process controls, automation, systems integration, or controls programming.
• Strong PC literacy and Windows environments, servers, domains, networking, and OT familiarity.
• Practical understanding of controllers, I/O, instrumentation, and fieldbus technologies.
• Experience in chemical or continuous/batch manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, integrate, test, and start up automation solutions for batch and continuous processes.
• Support change orders, upgrades, and improvement projects across PLC, DCS, HMI, and plant-network environments.
• Program and troubleshoot systems using ladder logic, structured text, function blocks, and batch-sequencing tools.
• Help advance ABB 800xA and 800M modernization while supporting Allen-Bradley, legacy DCS, and vendor systems.
• Partner with process engineering, project engineering, operations, electrical maintenance, and instrumentation teams to solve plant-wide problems.
• Diagnose root causes, improve reliability and capacity, develop procedures, and contribute to equipment and process design decisions.
• Participate in occasional after-hours support when critical plant issues arise.
