Job summary

Veolia North America, LLC is seeking a Control Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated control systems, focusing on ABB 800xA DCS, PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA. The role bridges operations, maintenance, and IT to drive continuous improvements and minimize downtime.

You will develop and modify DCS/PLC logic, manage industrial networks, read schematics and P&IDs, and collaborate with maintenance and capital-project teams to deploy upgrades and train operators, all while upholding

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/automation field or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience programming, configuring, and troubleshooting ABB 800xA DCS.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA in manufacturing environments.
• Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, OPC DA/UA).
• Ability to read and update electrical schematics and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily technical support for automated production equipment and troubleshoot DCS/PLC faults.
• Develop and modify ABB 800xA DCS logic and PLC/HMI configurations for upgrades.
• Oversee industrial networks and data integration between field devices and SCADA systems.
• Maintain and update electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
• Lead automation upgrades with cross-functional teams and train operators.
• Ensure safety standards (OSHA, NFPA 70E) are integrated in designs.
