Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Oakley, CA is seeking a Process Assistant to support Area Managers and coordinate daily department duties. You will help allocate labor, lead meetings, train associates, and ensure SOP compliance while supporting safety initiatives and production goals.

The role requires flexibility, basic Microsoft Office skills, and the ability to lift up to 49 pounds and stand for long shifts. Weekend/night availability may be needed.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience.
  • High school or equivalent.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
  • Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required.
  • Education beyond High School or experience managing employees (preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support and work in the department as required.
  • Allocate labor, lead meetings, assign duties, and communicate with internal and external suppliers.
  • Provide vacation coverage for Area Managers.
  • Follow policies, track attendance, and ensure SOP compliance.
  • Track and report ATS/labor hours.
  • Assist on the floor as a resource, train associates and verify SOP compliance.
  • Monitor area performance and provide feedback on associate performance.
  • Participate in Operational Excellence initiatives and production duties as needed.
  • Understand workflow and daily production goals and review SOPs as required.

Description

The Process Assistant is assigned to the Area Manager, and will hold responsibilities specific to the different Fulfillment Center areas.

Key Job Elements
  • Support and work in the department as required
  • Helping support daily management of department duties, including allocating labor, leading meetings, assigning job duties, and communicating with internal and external suppliers
  • Providing vacation coverage for Area Managers
  • Providing policy follow-up, attendance tracking (duties do not extend to discipline)
  • Tracking and reporting of ATS/labor hours
  • Assisting the floor as an associate resource, training associates and verifying SOP compliance
  • Ensuring successful area performance, through tracking, reporting and feedback of associate performance
  • Participating in Operational Excellence initiatives in some capacity
  • Filling in as needed with production duties
  • Fully understanding workflow and daily production goals
  • Reviewing and updating SOP as required
  • Assisting in keeping work area clean and organized
  • Identifying and addressing safety hazards within the work area
  • Coaching associates to work safely at all times
  • Participating in safety initiatives
  • Referring all job injuries immediately to area manager
Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Office products and applications experience
  • High school or equivalent
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
  • Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand/walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours, and be able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach
  • Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education beyond High School, and/or prior experience managing employees
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels of Amazon associates and management
  • Experience with an FC kaizen or Shingi event
  • An awareness and willingness to use OE tools and techniques
  • Experience working in Problem Solve a plus
  • Leadership ability

The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location.
