Job summary

Accton Technology Corporation seeks an experienced RMA Process and Test Engineer to keep RMA operations running smoothly by troubleshooting test stations, workstations, fixtures, and software. You will analyze capacity, workflow, and equipment utilization to drive throughput, reliability, and traceability across the RMA line.

The role includes supporting longer-term automation initiatives, documenting requirements, and coordinating production implementation, with emphasis on hands-on repair,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Computer Engineering or related technical field.
  • 2+ years of experience in RMA repairs, test engineering, or product engineering.
  • Hands-on with production, testing, repair, manufacturing, or service operations.
  • Troubleshooting computer hardware, software, test equipment, workstations, fixtures, cables, or related systems.
  • Ability to read, understand, and modify existing programs or scripts.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the line engineer for the RMA production line and related systems.
  • Provide daily technical support and troubleshoot hardware, software, and process issues.
  • Read and modify test programs or scripts as needed.
  • Investigate abnormal test results and identify root causes.
  • Use diagnostic tools to repair test-system components.
  • Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and documentation.
  • Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual effort and errors.
  • Support automation projects from requirements to production rollout.
  • Assist in installation, configuration, testing, validation, and release of automated solutions.
  • Train production staff on new equipment, systems, and processes.

Position Summary

The RMA Process and Test Engineer is responsible for maintaining the technical operation, stability, and readiness of the site’s RMA production and test processes. The primary focus of this position is to keep RMA operations running by troubleshooting and resolving issues involving test stations, production workstations, test equipment, fixtures, cables, software, hardware, and the overall test environment.

The RMA Process and Test Engineer will evaluate production capacity, process flow, workstation performance, equipment utilization, technical risks, and recurring operational issues. The engineer develops and implements practical improvements that increase throughput, reliability, consistency, traceability, and overall operational efficiency.

The RMA Process and Test Engineer will also work on the continued development and improvement of the RMA operation by supporting longer-term automation and technology-development initiatives for the RMA line, including potential automation of receiving, testing, inspection, packaging, data collection, and other repetitive activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the line engineer of the RMA production line and its associated processes, equipment, test systems, workstations, fixtures, cables, and technical infrastructure.
  • Provide daily technical support and troubleshoot hardware, software, equipment, fixtures, cables, workstations, test stations, and process issues affecting production.
  • Read and understand existing test programs or scripts and make approved practical modifications when needed.
  • Investigate abnormal test results and determine whether issues are related to the product, test program, equipment, fixture, cable, workstation, configuration, or test method.
  • Use diagnostic tools, including digital multimeters and soldering equipment, to troubleshoot and repair test-system components.
  • Create and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements to reduce manual effort and errors.
  • Support automation projects by documenting process requirements, providing line knowledge, participating in testing and validation, and coordinating production implementation.
  • Support the installation, configuration, integration, testing, validation, and production release of automated or semi-automated solutions.
  • Train production employees and technicians on new or revised equipment, systems, workstations, and processes.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • At least 2+ years of experience in RMA repairs, test engineering or product engineering.
  • Hands-on experience supporting production, testing, repair, manufacturing, or service operations.
  • Experience troubleshooting computer hardware, software, test equipment, production workstations, fixtures, cables, or related technical systems.
  • Working knowledge of programming or scripting, with the ability to read, understand, troubleshoot, and make practical modifications to existing programs or scripts.
  • Familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, C#, Visual Basic, or similar tools.
  • Ability to use electrical diagnostic and repair tools, including digital multimeters and soldering equipment.
  • Familiarity with RCA methodologies (8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys) and CAPA processes.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate reports using tools such as Excel, Powerpoint, Word.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with electronics, telecommunications, networking equipment, manufacturing, repair, service, or RMA operations.
  • Experience designing, modifying, assembling, or validating test fixtures and test cables.
  • Experience with RMA systems or ERP tools (e.g., SAP) is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with databases, production data collection, reporting tools, or manufacturing execution systems.
