The St. Albans Police Department is seeking dedicated and motivated individuals to join our team as Probationary Police Officers. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and protection of our community.

Key Dates:

• Application Deadline: Friday, November 20, 2026, by 4:30 p.m. at the City Clerk’s Office, 1499 MacCorkle Avenue
• Physical Agility Examination Date: Saturday, December 5, 2026, 8:00 AM
• Written Examination Date: Saturday, December 5, 2026, 9:30 AM
• Exam Location: St. Albans Police Department, 613 MacCorkle Avenue, St. Albans, WV
• Testing Order: Applicants who successfully complete the physical agility examination are eligible to take the competitive written examination at 9:30 a.m. the same day and location.
• Physical Ability Test Standards: 1.5-mile run in 14:36, 18 push-ups in 1 minute, and 28 sit-ups in 1 minute. Failure of any part of the physical ability test constitutes failure in the testing process. Applicants must either sign the release of liability or have a physician certify they are physically fit to take the test. The form is included in the testing packet.
