Job summary

County of Siskiyou is seeking a Probation Resource Officer to support probation programs. Under general supervision, you will mentor youth and adults, conduct assessments, transport individuals, and apply Evidence Based Practices to rehabilitation and objectives.

You may work on a rotating schedule including evenings and weekends, with potential overtime and firearms access. Collaboration with deputies, schools, and community resources is essential to reduce risk and improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in supervising or counseling youth.
• Completion of advanced level coursework in sociology, psychology, behavior sciences, or closely related field is highly desirable.
• Possession of high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain a valid and appropriate driver's license.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and medical examination.
• Completion of P. C. 832 Training and BSCC required training.

Responsibilities

• Mentor youth and adults, conduct counseling and motivation sessions.
• Support truancy reduction and intervention efforts.
• Transport adults and juveniles as required.
• Maintain logs and department case management records.
• Assist in development of case/treatment plans aligned with evidence-based standards.
• Participate in training and contribute to program groups.
