Job summary

Montgomery County Probation Services seeks a Probation Services Manager to lead the department and oversee program delivery and offender supervision. The role reports to the Director of Probation Services and requires oversight of multiple sections and staff, with occasional weekend hours.

You will design and analyze data, prepare reports, monitor trends, and collaborate on department strategy, policies, and procedures. Certification through LEADS is expected to be obtained.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, criminal justice or related field, and five years of relevant supervision experience in criminal offenders, including three years in staff management.
• Strong knowledge of management principles, court processes, and probation policies.
• Ability to lead, train, and evaluate staff, and to coordinate across departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation of Probation Services Sections and provide guidance to supervisors.
• Design, analyze, and report on workload, outcomes, and trends to improve department operations.
• Develop and document policies, procedures, and standards for probation services.
• Respond to emergencies and may serve as Director in absence.
• Obtain and maintain Practitioner Certification through LEADS.
