Qualifications

• Education: bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to one year in probation/parole, counseling, social work, investigative or legal work.
• Experience substitutions allowed for education requirements on a year-for-year basis.
• Graduate coursework in social science, behavioral science, criminal justice or related fields may substitute for up to one year.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain offenders' records and reports for parole board reviews.
• Interview probationers and parolees to evaluate progress and compliance.
• Testify in court regarding offenders' backgrounds and sentencing conditions.
• Coordinate with judges, law enforcement and agencies involved in probation/parole.
