Job summary

State of Tennessee is seeking an Institutional Prob/Par Specialist for the Department of Correction in Clifton, TN. The role supports parole hearings, manages confidential information, and coordinates with the Board of Parole to ensure timely processing.

You will work in an institutional setting, handling sensitive data and supporting inmates through the parole process, including pre-hearing classes and coordination with staff across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and experience equivalent to one year of full-time professional level experience in probation/parole, counseling, social work, investigative, or law enforcement.
• Graduate course work in social science, behavioral science, criminal justice, criminology, social work, and/or law may substitute for up to one year of required experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates Parole Grant and Revocation hearings to ensure timely and efficient hearings.
• Notifies staff and inmates about upcoming hearings and delivers parole-related notifications.
• Reviews dockets, documents offender profiles, and updates time served for docket calculations.
• Distributes Community Supervision for Life certificates to the appropriate offices.
• Maintains notification letters and logs, and tracks program completion dates.
