Job summary

Commonwealth of VA Careers seeks a District Mental Health Clinician to deliver mental health services at the Virginia Beach P&P and Accomack P&P offices. You will assess, triage, and treat probationers/parolees and state inmates, including individual and group therapy, with supervision from senior clinicians.

The role requires a graduate degree in a relevant field, licensure or QMHP eligibility, and experience in correctional/forensic settings.

Qualifications

• Relevant professional experience in mental health services for varied populations.
• Graduate degree with advanced coursework in mental health.
• Licensed as a mental health clinician QMHP or QMHP-eligible as per VA Code.

Responsibilities

• Provide time-limited mental health services to probationers/parolees and jail inmates.
• Perform mental health assessment and triage; provide individual/group therapy.
• Deliver psychoeducational services and re-entry planning under supervision.
• Screen and coordinate with Probation/Parole Officers for service needs.
• Consult and train Probation/Parole staff, MH/W staff, and community partners.
