Hendricks County Government's Probation Department is seeking a Probation Officer to supervise, manage cases, and monitor individuals under court authority. The role supports public safety, compliance with orders, and evidence-based practices to reduce recidivism.

You will work with adult and juvenile caseloads, coordinate with courts, law enforcement, treatment providers, and families. The position requires strong communication and professional judgment across field and office settings.

Qualifications

• Must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university prior to employment.
• Must demonstrate the ability to obtain and maintain required certifications (Probation Officer, IRAS, IDACS, CSAMS or Professional Status, etc.).
• Must learn and apply Indiana statutes, court orders, and department policies.

Responsabilités

• Supervises individuals on adult or juvenile probation caseloads according to court orders and department expectations.
• Monitors compliance with court orders and supervision conditions through various contacts and testing.
• Testifies in court, provides recommendations, and assists the Court in decision-making.
• Collaborates with courts, law enforcement, schools, providers, and community agencies to support case management and public safety.
• Uses evidence-based practices and motivational interviewing to promote behavior change and reduce recidivism.
