Qualifications

• Education: Associate degree or 63 hours of coursework from a four-year college in a related field.
• Combination: Or 2 years of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties.
• Knowledge: Basic probation services principles and procedures, laws, regulations and staff rules.
• Skills: Home visits, interviewing probationers, tracking locations, applying laws and preparing reports.

Responsibilities

• Meets, interviews, and confers with probationers through home visits and office meetings; monitors and documents progress.
• Assists in monitoring offenders through electronic/GPS monitoring under direction of a Probation Officer to ensure compliance with court regulations.
• Assists with pre-sentence investigations and evaluations of candidates being considered for probation.
• Prepares, updates, and submits a variety of reports and databases including progress updates, court appearance paperwork, home-visit logs, and location reports.
• Performs other duties of a similar nature as required.
