Job summary

National Police in Michigan seeks a probation officer to perform a variety of probation department functions for the 1st District Court under the supervision of the Director of Probation Services.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice or a related field, plus 1–3 years in criminal justice or related areas. Candidates must complete LEIN fingerprinting and CCJP certification and maintain MADCPO membership within the first year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, counseling or a closely related area.
• Experience: 1–3 years in criminal justice, counseling, case management or law enforcement is a plus.
• Must sign a Monroe County Court Employee model code of conduct.
• Must become a member of the Michigan Association of District Court Probation Officers (MADCPO) within the first year of employment and renew annually.
• Obtain & maintain Certified Criminal Justice Professional (CCJP) certification
• Must take the LEIN certification test & be fingerprinted.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

• Experience: 1 to 3 years of prior experience in criminal justice, counseling, case management or law enforcement or related capacity a plus.
