Job summary

The Highlands County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a dedicated Misdemeanor Probation professional to supervise and document probation client progress, connect clients with community resources, and ensure compliance with court-ordered terms.

Responsibilities include interviewing clients, outlining probation conditions, collecting and recording payments, and coordinating hearings, with a focus on accurate reporting and inter-agency collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Two years college and two years progressively responsible experience in a court system or probation, parole, social casework or counseling.
  • Valid Florida Driver License is required.
  • Disaster Essential.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor probation clients to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Explain conditions of probation and obtain client signatures.
  • Gather intake information, refer to agencies, and schedule appointments.
  • Prepare court-ordered paperwork and maintain records for all clients.
  • Document monies received and manage restitution/fines forms.
  • Notify court of violations and assist with warrants when needed.
  • Maintain case notes and agency relationships; coordinate hearings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
