Job summary

Marcelli Steel in Brookfield, CT is seeking an experienced Shop Foreman to oversee daily shop operations, supervise fabrication personnel, and ensure on-time delivery while upholding quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will read structural steel drawings, coordinate production, and manage workload with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or lead fabricator experience in structural steel fabrication.
• Ability to independently read and interpret structural steel fabrication drawings and specifications.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shop operations, personnel, production schedules, material receiving, and equipment maintenance.
• Supervise, train, and direct fabrication personnel, assigning work based on skill level and project needs.
• Read and interpret shop drawings; assist with layout, fitting, and welding as needed.
• Coordinate workflow to maximize productivity, maintain quality, and meet deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with QMS, AISC certification, and welding standards.
