Job summary

Amazon’s Specialized Business Security (SBS) Core Proactive Security team designs and engineers security tooling to protect high-profile devices and customer experiences across Kindle, Amazon Photos, and devices like Echo and Fire tablets.

We seek a strong software development engineer to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and deliver large-scale security tooling and infrastructure for securing web applications and services.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• 3+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze business and functional requirements, and translate business requirements into technical design specifications.
• Write high-quality, efficient, testable code and recommend improvements in development, maintenance, and system standards, and contribute to software documentation.
• Design, develop and deploy medium to large software solutions
• Be responsible for technical problem solving, meeting product objectives, and developing best practices
• Serve as an essential technical resource in the full development cycle.
• Analyze security data using analytics
• Mentor junior team members technically
• Work in an agile development environment.
