Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks a Cyber Threat Hunter to proactively hunt threats across networks, endpoints, and security data, developing baselines and detecting anomalies to strengthen defense.

You'll collaborate with SOC analysts, design new alerts, and build automation scripts (Python/PowerShell) to streamline investigations and improve response times in a federal security environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 4 years of experience in cybersecurity or a closely related technical security role.
• Experience performing system administrator-level analysis across multiple platforms and OSes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive threat hunting across networks, endpoints, and security datasets to identify and eradicate advanced threats.
• Analyze logs from multiple sources to detect suspicious behavior and validate threat activity.
• Establish and maintain baseline patterns for normal traffic and system activity to improve detection.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts and detection engineers to recommend new alerts and monitoring logic.
• Develop automation scripts and workflows (SOAR, Python, PowerShell) to streamline threat hunting.
• Research adversary tactics and procedures to develop investigative leads.
• Support incident response with documentation and recommendations.
• Examine malware and threats to determine scope and impact.
• Apply reverse engineering and binary analysis to support vulnerability research.
