Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks a Cyber Threat Hunter to proactively protect enterprise environments by analyzing network, endpoint, and log data. You will develop threat hypotheses and investigate TTPs to strengthen cyber defense and incident response operations.

You will work with SOC analysts, develop detections, and craft automation to reduce response time. A strong background in reverse engineering and malware analysis is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4 years of cybersecurity or closely related security experience.
• System analysis across multiple platforms in cyber investigations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for tracking TTPs.
• Knowledge of intrusion detection, evidence preservation, and security policies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive threat hunting across networks, endpoints, and security datasets to identify threats.
• Analyze logs from packet captures, correlation engines, parsed security data, and endpoint telemetry to validate activity.
• Establish baselines for normal traffic and data flows to improve anomaly detection.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts to recommend new alerts and monitoring logic.
• Develop automation scripts using SOAR platforms, Python, or PowerShell to streamline hunting tasks.
• Research adversary TTPs and develop investigative leads.
• Support incident response with documentation, follow-up actions, and recommendations.
• Examine malware and threats to determine nature, scope, and impact.
• Apply reverse engineering with Ghidra/IDA Pro for vulnerability research.
