Job summary

The University of Oregon is seeking qualified candidates to join the Department of Linguistics as Pro Tem Instructors on a pool basis. Positions are limited duration, potentially renewable for up to three years, and may cover a range of undergraduate Linguistics courses.

Minimum requirements include a Master’s degree in Linguistics or a related field; Ph.D. in Linguistics or a related field is preferred. Background checks are required for all offers. Applications reviewed as needs arise.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Linguistics or a related field is required.
• Ph.D in Linguistics or a related field is preferred.
• Experience teaching linguistics, functional and cognitive linguistics, and second language acquisition is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teach lower or upper division undergraduate Linguistics courses as needed.
• Pro Tem Instructors may be appointed who may renew for up to a total of three years based on programmatic need, funding, and performance.
• All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a background check.
