Job summary

The University of Oregon's Department of Linguistics seeks qualified candidates for Pro Tem Instructor positions. Depending on needs, instructors may teach a range of undergraduate Linguistics courses. Appointments are limited in duration and may be renewed for up to three years based on need, funding, and performance.

Minimum requirement is a Master’s degree in Linguistics or a related field, with Ph.D. preferred. Applications reviewed as positions become available.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Linguistics or a related field.
• Familiarity with functional and cognitive linguistics, second language acquisition and language teaching methods is desirable.
• Commitment to working with diverse student and faculty communities.

Responsibilities

• Teach lower or upper division Linguistics courses on a range of topics as assigned.
• Positions are limited duration appointments, potentially renewable for up to three years.
• Screening of applications will occur as positions become available and continue until filled.
