Job summary

Westwood Country Club in Austin, TX is seeking a friendly Proshop Counter team member for a part-time role. You will sell merchandise, assist members and guests, and ensure smooth operations in the Tennis Pro Shop.

This position is nonexempt and hourly. You will handle merchandise displays, process sales, manage reservations, and support promotions while maintaining high service standards and proper appearance as outlined in the employee handbook.

Position Summary:

Sell merchandise in Tennis Pro Shop, ensuring that the shop operation is functioning well and that all phases of service and their execution are optimal.

This is a nonexempt, hourly position.

Essential Job Functions:

• Advises members and guests about attire, equipment, etc.

Appearance and Grooming:

All employees are required to follow the guidelines set forth by the associate handbook regarding proper workplace appearance. Employees must adhere to their department’s specific uniform requirements.

Ability to listen, give and follow directions; speak clearly and concisely to maintain proper, effective communication with members and staff.

Reasoning Abilities:

Work quickly and accurately, both independently and as a part of a team. Exercise good judgment, perform detailed tasks; understand and follow verbal and/or written instruction. Use discretion and exercise good judgment, and acknowledge all members, guests, and staff checking-in or walking past.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

This position routinely requires sitting, standing, walking, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, holding, twisting, reaching, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift at least fifty pounds. Must be able to work quickly and accurately in a custom-service oriented environment.

The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate, but sometimes loud, characteristic of a country club tennis center.
