Qualifications

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a welding foreman or lead welder.
  • Valid AWS CWI or equivalent welding certification.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily welding activities on mechanical projects to ensure adherence to project plans and specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to welding team members, including training on welding techniques and safety protocols.
  • Monitor welding quality and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to plan welding schedules, allocate resources, and resolve any technical issues.
  • Enforce strict safety standards and conduct regular safety meetings to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Maintain accurate records of welding activities, including weld logs, inspection reports, and personnel certifications.
  • Assist in troubleshooting welding equipment and processes to optimize productivity and quality.

About the Role:

Ultimately, the Welding Foreman ensures that welding tasks contribute to the successful completion of mechanical projects while upholding safety and quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a welding foreman or lead welder in mechanical or industrial projects.
  • Valid welding certifications such as AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent.
