Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a PRN Registered Vascular Technician for the Heart & Vascular Specialists Clinic in Bedford, TX. Day shift, 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with 25% travel to surrounding clinics and mileage reimbursement.

Applicants should have an ARZS credential upon hire, an accredited ultrasound program background, and one year of vascular lab experience. ACLS preferred; BCLS required. Excellent communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a related field preferred.
• Graduate of Accredited Ultrasound Technology Program preferred.
• 1 year related experience in a vascular laboratory required.
• RVT and RVS credentials required upon hire.
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire (preferred).
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire (required).
• Knowledge of cardiac, pulmonary anatomy/pathology and vascular anatomy essential.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients using the Registered Vascular Technician process.
• Performs diagnostic carotid arterial and venous studies of upper/lower extremities per ICAVL guidelines.
• Maintains operation logs, calibrates equipment, and orders supplies as needed.
• Explains procedures to patients and communicates changes in clinical condition to physicians and team.
• Performs other duties as assigned and conducts studies per lab protocols.
• Ensures studies are scheduled appropriately and maintains quality assurance databases.
• Reviews test results with interpreting physician.
