Job summary

Texas Health Resources is seeking a PRN Registered Vascular Technician for the Surgical Specialists Clinic in Arlington, TX. Work location is at 1001 N. Waldrop Drive, Suite 612, with day shift and as-needed hours, typically Monday and Wednesday, 8:00am-5:00pm, with ~25% travel to surrounding clinics.

Role requires 1 year vascular lab experience and RVT or RVS credentialing at hire, ACLS preferred or BCLS required. Strong communication and professionalism are essential for excellent patient care.

Qualifications

• 1 year related experience in a vascular laboratory (required).
• RVT or RVS registration upon hire (required).
• ACLS – preferred or BCLS required (as specified).
• Knowledge of cardiac/pulmonary anatomy and vascular anatomy essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients using the Registered Vascular Technician process.
• Perform diagnostic carotid arterial and venous studies per ICAVL guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain operation logs; calibrate and maintain equipment; order supplies as needed.
• Explain procedures to patients; communicate changes in patient condition with physicians and staff.
• Conduct vascular laboratory studies per protocols and maintain QA database.
• Review results with interpreting physician.

Here’s What You Need

• Associates Degree in a related field (preferred)
• Graduate of accredited ultrasound technology program (preferred)
• 1 Year Related experience in a Vascular Laboratory (required)
• RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist Upon Hire (required) or
• RVS - Registered Vascular Sonographer Upon Hire (required)
• ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire (preferred) or
• BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support Exception Quarterly 90 Days Upon Hire (required)
• Possess an excellent working knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary anatomy/pathology, the cardiac patient, and treatment of cardiac diseases
• Have working knowledge of vascular arterial and venous anatomy for carotid and peripheral vasculature
• Have excellent communication skills
• Have good computer skills
• Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism

What You Will Do

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Registered Vascular Technician Process
• Will perform diagnostic carotid arterials and venous studies of upper and lower extremities and venous studies of patients with suspected peripheral vascular disease by following ICAVL guidelines.
• Prepares and maintains operations logs and calibrates and maintains equipment, and order supplies when necessary.
• Explains procedures to patient to obtain cooperation and reduce anxieties of patient. Communicates with physicians, managers, and co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient’s clinical conditions while undergoing vascular procedure.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Conducts vascular laboratory studies in accordance with the vascular laboratory protocols.
• Ensures that all vascular laboratory studies are scheduled in an appropriate manner to satisfy the clinical situation.
• Maintains the vascular laboratory quality assurance database.
• Reviews test results with interpreting physician.
