CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN invites a PRN Vascular Neurologist to join a world-class stroke neurology team. You will contribute to a high-volume practice focused on stroke diagnosis, prevention, and research, with opportunities for teaching and collaboration across neuro subspecialties.

Board-Eligible/Board-Certified in Neurology with a Vascular Neurology fellowship is required, along with an active TN license, ACLS, and BLS.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board-eligible/Board-certified in Neurology.
  • Completed a Vascular Neurology fellowship program.
  • Active Tennessee medical license expected.
  • ACLS and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with vascular neurological conditions in a high-volume practice.
  • Providing expert clinical care within a renowned stroke neurology team.
  • Collaborating with stroke neurology, neuroimaging, neurocritical care, neurointervention, and neurosurgery teams.
  • Engaging in acute stroke research including AI, device, stem cell, and pharma trials.
  • Managing inpatient stroke care with varied shift schedules.
  • Participating in academic and growth opportunities including teaching and/or research.
  • Strengthening national collaborations through CommonSpirit Health.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our PRN Vascular Neurologist, you will be integral to the operations of a world-renowned stroke neurology team at CommonSpirit Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. This exceptional opportunity offers outstanding prospects for a fellowship-trained vascular neurologist interested in working in a high-volume practice at the forefront of the field of vascular neurology. Every day you will contribute to one of the largest and most organized stroke referral networks in the US, leveraging our strong neuro hospitalist, neuro interventional, and neurosurgery components, all unified under a single, highly collegial Institute of Neuroscience. Your work will focus primarily on the stroke service or to share your expertise between acute stroke and general neurology services, emphasizing both stroke diagnosis and secondary stroke prevention.

To be successful in this role, you must be Board-Eligible or Board-Certified in neurology with a fellowship in vascular neurology, bringing a passion for advanced stroke care and a drive for continuous improvement.

  • Diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with a broad spectrum of vascular neurological conditions within our high-volume practice.
  • Providing expert clinical care within our world-renowned stroke neurology team, enhancing our DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center operations.
  • Collaborating closely with a large team of clinicians specializing in stroke neurology, neuroimaging, neurocritical care, neurointervention, and neurosurgery.
  • Executing acute stroke research, including artificial intelligence, device, stem cell, and other pharma clinical trials, with exceptional clinical research support.
  • Managing inpatient stroke patient care through a varied shift work schedule.
  • Utilizing expertise in shared services between acute stroke and general neurology, with a heavy emphasis on stroke diagnosis and secondary stroke prevention.
  • Participating in Academic & Growth Opportunities, including teaching and/or research on a local, regional, or national level, supported by our strong academic affiliation.
  • Fostering strong collaborations on clinical and research protocols nationally through our direct tie to CommonSpirit Health.

We are offering an excellent shift rate, a favorable call schedule, reimbursement for reasonable travel expenses, along with malpractice insurance to include tail coverage.

Job Requirements

Required

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board-eligible/Board-certified in Neurology
  • Completed a Vascular Neurology fellowship program
  • Ability to obtain an active medical license in the state of Tennessee
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS and BLS certifications
