Job summary

Texas Health Resources in Burleson, TX seeks an Ultrasound Technician II PRN to join Radiology Ultrasound Services. The role involves patient education, image acquisition, and aiding radiologists in complex procedures, with on-call responsibilities and variable shifts.

Required: High School Diploma; BCLS; ARRT/ARDMS certification path; AMA ultrasound program graduate or equivalent preferred; 2 years hospital radiology experience preferred; on-site work at the Burleson clinic with opportunities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Graduate of AMA approved/accredited Ultrasound Program (preferred).
• Associate Degree (preferred).
• 2 years clinical experience in hospital radiology setting (preferred).
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to independent patient care (required).
• ARDMS/ARRT sonography certification required; vascular specialty if applicable (required).

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patient or guardian before and during exam.
• Image correct area; follow department protocols and safety.
• Assist radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
• Send and transfer images to PACS correctly.
• Work with staff to ensure laser images from modality or PACS are printed as needed.
• Operate, care for and maintain ultrasound equipment.
• Prepare room for examination with necessary supplies.
• Monitor patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices during imaging.
