Texas Health Resources in Burleson, TX is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist II PRN to join Radiology Ultrasound Services. The role involves on-site work with variable shifts and on-call rotation, performing diagnostic ultrasound exams and interfacing with radiologists.

Candidates must have ARRT Sonography and ARDMS credentials, BCLS, and a AMA-accredited ultrasound program; 2 years hospital radiology experience is preferred. We offer growth opportunities and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
• AMA approved/accredited Ultrasound Program (preferred)
• Associate Degree (preferred)
• 2 years clinical experience in hospital radiology setting (preferred)
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care (required)
• ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Sonography (required)
• ARDMS - American Registry for Diagnostic and Medical Sonographers (required), must have 2 certifications upon hire AND
• Other RVT or VT(RVS) as one modality if performing vascular sonography (required)

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patient or guardian/family prior to and during exam
• Image correct anatomical area of interest and pathology per department protocols
• Perform complex procedures including age-related criteria and developmental considerations
• Assist radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique
• Correctly send and transfer images to PACS
• Work with staff to ensure images from modality or PACS are printed as needed
• Operate, care for and maintain equipment
• Prepare room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies)
• Handle patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes or other devices, and monitor patient during imaging
