Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking a PRN Ultrasound Technologist for the Breast Center to perform diagnostic ultrasound and support radiology procedures. You will operate ultrasound equipment, optimize image quality and assist physicians during invasive steps as needed.

The role requires ARDMS certification, BLS, SC licensure and an AMA approved ultrasound education; prior breast imaging experience is highly preferred. This position offers PRN hours with hospital-based benefits.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• ARDMS certification is required.
• Licensed to practice in South Carolina.
• Graduate of an AMA approved Ultrasound program.
• Breast imaging experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound in the Breast Center following radiologist protocols.
• Operate ultrasound equipment, select proper factors and produce diagnostic images.
• Assist physicians during invasive procedures when needed.
• Handle clerical tasks, scheduling, transportation and supply needs as required.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Ultrasound Technologist In the Breast Center performs diagnostic procedures with the use of ultrasound, with protocols outlined by the radiologist. Operates diagnostic equipment, processes images, and prepares room with necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure. The ultrasound technologist is responsible for selecting proper technical factors, producing diagnostic quality images, and competent in the operation of equipment. Assistance is also needed by the physicians during invasive procedures. Other duties include, but are not limited to, clerical, scheduling, transportation, ordering supplies, inventory, cleaning and anything deemed necessary by the medical imaging management team. Job may include direct supervision of students at the discretion of the area supervisor. Employee must have the same licensure or have completed the same training to satisfy the requirements of the discipline of the student.

Direct supervision means the primary caregiver is readily available to the student throughout the shift.

What Qualifications You Will Need

• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• Certification by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
• Licensed in the state of SC
• Graduate of an AMA approved Ultrasound school
• Previous Breast Imaging Experience strongly preferred
