Job summary

The role requires graduation from an accredited radiologic technology or sonography program, and active certification as a sonographer with ARRT, ARDMS, or related bodies, with BLS. You will prepare patients, obtain quality images, monitor data, and participate in quality assurance and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology or Sonography Technology.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Registration in ARRT-S, ARRT-VS, RDMS, RDCS, RVT, RCIS, RCS, RVS, RCCS or ARRT-BS.
• If vascular studies are performed, must obtain vascular registry within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs ultrasound/sonography procedures on patients.
• Prepares and positions patients; selects imaging techniques; ensures image quality.
• Enters and monitors patient data.
• Performs QA on ultrasound equipment and supports accreditation.
• Identifies and reports accidents or equipment malfunctions.
• Takes emergency call within the department.
• Adheres to Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards; maintains budgetary considerations.
• Promotes professional growth; serves as a mentor and resource.
• Demonstrates compassionate and personalized patient care; supports service standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
