McDowell Center for Children, a UHS facility in West Tennessee, seeks a Mental Health Technician to support adolescent boys with mental health, behavioral, and substance use challenges. You will help maintain a safe, therapeutic milieu under supervision.

McDowell Center for Children has been providing psychiatric services to the West Tennessee area for more than 20 years. Located in Dyersburg, TN, our 28-bed facility provides a setting for adolescent males experiencing mental health, behavioral, and/or substance abuse issues. McDowell offers unique and individualized programming for adolescent boys that sets us apart from many other treatment facilities, and our tenured leadership team includes a nursing department, licensed therapists, psychiatrists and counselors.

Mental Health Technician creates a safe environment for residents, saves lives, when necessary, provides hope, empowers residents, and teaches new tools for coping with residents. The Mental Health Technician provides direct resident care under the supervision of a Shift Supervisor. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, education groups and activities of daily living.
