PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Performs scrub and circulating duties during interventional procedures according to USV/FMS policies and procedures. Assists with preparation of the procedure room, inventory of supplies, and stocking of supplies in the procedure room and stock room.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with the maintenance and setting up of the procedure room in compliance with FMCNA/USV policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Stocks procedure room and trays with supplies and equipment prior to procedures.
- Cleans the procedure room and equipment post-procedure.
- Prepares patients for surgical procedures by positioning, shaving, and prepping.
- Prepares and administers medications within scope and regulations.
- Performs patient transfers, positioning, and transports.
- Acts as scrub assistant during interventional procedures under fluoroscopy, maintaining sterile technique.
- Draws up and labels intravenous medications as per policies.
- Performs circulating duties in the procedure room.
- Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA policies.
- Ensures the environment is clean, sanitary, and safe; inspects equipment daily.
- Performs minor equipment repairs and communicates issues.
- Assists with sterilization and packaging of surgical instruments.
- Prepares and organizes supplies to prevent wastage.
- Supports USV quality standards and CQI practices.
- Maintains medical records and other operational records.
- Provides clerical support to physicians and staff, including managing instruments and equipment, printing images, and training new employees.
- Files paperwork and manages inventory and supplies.
- Processes and archives patient images as per policies.
- Participates in regulatory and accreditation surveys.
- Assists with marketing, education, and promotion of services within an assigned territory.
- Supports sales efforts, maintains relationships, and identifies new accounts to grow procedures performed.
- Maintains knowledge of services and market competitors.
- Acts as liaison between clinics and FVC Center.
- May work evening and weekend hours.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
- Participates in projects and other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Includes desk work, patient interaction, and working in a healthcare environment. Must lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Travel up to 50% within the region may be required.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma required.
- Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- 1-2 years' related experience preferred.
- Experience in patient care and interventional procedures preferred.
- Knowledge of sterile techniques and equipment such as C-Arm and Ultrasound.
- Successful completion of BLS certification required.
