Job summary

TriStar StoneCrest Medical Center in Tennessee is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant to provide patient care under the Surgeon’s direction. You will prepare the OR, assist in procedures, and support resuscitation if needed.

Qualifications include TN or national certification, accredited program graduation, and current BLS. Prior surgical assistant experience is preferred; the hospital offers a comprehensive benefits package and professional growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Current TN licensure or National Certification as Orthopedic PA / Certified ORT or RN or MD.
• Graduate of Accredited Programs in PA, ORT, RN or MD.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• One year of surgical assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating room and support during surgical procedures; assist in OR turnover.
• Check instruments for workability prior to use and ensure proper contents.
• Retraction of tissue for optimal visualization using appropriate tools.
• Assist with hemostasis and placement of sutures and ligatures as directed.
• Assist with resuscitation during cardiac arrest or other life-threatening events in OR.
• Perform other duties related to the surgical procedure as directed by the surgeon.
