Job summary

Parkridge East Hospital in East Ridge, TN is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant PRN to support our surgical teams. The First Assistant provides patient care under the direction of the Surgeon and participates in the operative procedure, ensuring sterility and efficiency.

Requirements include completion of an Accredited Program in Surgical First Assisting, TN licensure or national certification, BLS within 30 days, and at least 1 year of surgical assistant experience.

Qualifications

• Education: Completion of an Accredited Program in Surgical First Assisting.
• Licensure/Certification: Current TN licensure, or National Certification as a Surgical First Assistant, or National Certification as an Orthopedic Physicians Assistant. Certification required within 90 days. BLS required within 30 days.
• Experience: One-year surgical assistant preferred.
• No Travel Required

Responsibilities

• The First Assistant is responsible for providing patient care of the surgical patient under the direction of the Surgeon.
